i think that it's a great idea. something that i thought was needed in the old system. it was sad to have it closed, great to see it come back. count me in!

completely agree sinnerz i myself suggested moderators for the chat room bring back the room cant wait happy days and seeing as i basically live online i think that i would be a good mod lol cos i have no life lol

this i do no agree with not all moderators turn into power freaks... but it is sad when it does happen. i believe the role simply keeps people free from irrelevant abuse.

the old chat ended with way to much of it ... moderators is definately a step in the right direction and i am sure that glenn will see to it that those that are put on moderator status will abide by the rules of being appointed one.

Thank you for all of your submissions here and by email and I will be adding them to a list for review in the coming days.

I have been overwhelmed by the response to the new plans. The new system is well under way and is looking very nice indeed.

Many of you have also expressed a preference to a communal chat environment as a first step to a 1-on-1 chat.

As the new system will have the ability to do many things that the current 1-On-1 system does, I think I would like to plan a phase-out of the current 1-On-1 setup and have the new chat environment take it's place. The new chat will enable you to mingle first in a number of 'rooms' - and then go 1-on-1 via text or video.

Users will be able to ban others, and of course there will be a moderating team in place.

If this doesn't suit your needs, please let me know.

So, that's where I am at the moment. Hopefully I will be able to release more details very soon!

Sounds good to me Glen, chat rooms will make it a lot easier for members to get to know each other in a safe environment before going on to more personal chats. Having moderators will ensure no one is rude or disobeys the TOS(Terms of Service)
