The onset of Flu season and the fear of the new Flu has been seen in the number of people now wearing face masks in public. Those who have not yet found someone special to snuggle up to in the cooler weather are now faced with a new first date dilemma. Should they wear a face mask?

Could be the makings of a comedy or trajedy???
Just a thought...

Yes Scorps, my creative imagination has been in overdrive ever since I saw the tele footage of the masks people were wearing...

I had already designed a few as accessories to coordinate with my winter wardrobe...
Seeing an entire family, including the dog, yes, the family dog... prompted the new thread.

My imagination went soaring as I pictured 'first meetings' between 'prospective' or 'potential' dates or partners...
Comedy, melodrama, tragedy were all possible scenarios...
Yep, I need a life... so back to the old treadly I suppose...

Face mask?
When I go on a first date, I wear full surgical garb.
Gloves apron mask, the whole deal.
Can't be too safe.
Then I get them to submit a blood and urine samples that I test while they wait.
This shows you care.

Then of course there is the handwashing procedure. Scrub up, under nails etc etc. I notice the tv campaign on washing hands as this is how many germs are spread.
Clean hands are the first line of action in the battle to stop the spread of infection. Check, Are your hands clean before you place them on someone.

Speaking of clean hands and the finding that so many do neglect this part of their daily hygiene practice, what does one say or do,without being too 'rude' or impolite, when offered a possibly unclean hand they do not wish to shake?
In a way I've found this telecampaign enables me to simply refuse with the simple explantion that I might pass something on to THEM. This way if they insist their hands are dirty anyway...
well you know the rest... smile and back off two paces..

Well anyone who has ever gone on a 'first' date with GM has their story to tell...
Hmmmm ???
But moving on...

The Flu vaccine is finally available here in Oz and 'vulnerable' residents are encouraged to get the shot...

It's still Flu season in the USA and some new 'greeting' styles have made their appearance...

The usual andshake, ug and iss is not obligatory...

Apparently there has been the 'elbow bump' where only elbow contact is exchanged...

Now to be really 'safe' the 'butt bump' is the new hello /goodbye exchange...
No hands or mouth contact whatsoever...

So who has been on such a 'safe date' recently?
