What sites have you found to be successful , and which sites have you not?

I have found ( im on about 14 sites ) that POF is good for social gatherings ( they do monthly activities ) but slim pickings for singles wanting a relationship.

RSVP , the aussie site , well unless you pay , its not much chance there either . I have paid , and still havent had much luck

CS , i have found is good for fun in the forums , a variety of people , and there actually seems like a fair bit of dating goes on there.

AMM is a pay site , but they have a real time chat , but its more of a yahoo type chat , girls chatting , guys trying to pick up for a 1 nighter lol... ahhh that takes me back ROFL

What sites ( without giving a direct address ) have you found to be "alive" with actual dating , and forums?

Now it depends on what you call 'successful'. I'm on other special-interest,non-dating sites and I only joined here to see what sites such as these were about. I read the forum threads and just leapt in boots and all for more social contact and some friendly chat and banter. If you've read any of my posts, both feet usually end up in my own mouth. Good thing I don't take myself too seriously.

I was definitely not looking for a 'date' cos I really don't know what that means except for what I've seen on tv. What a whole strange new world. I have been hit on by so so many very young guys, many who declare undying love and want to move in with me and take good care of me for the rest of my days. Is that 'success'?

I wouldnt say keen , id say " making the most of the opportunities available" , and it kinda makes it a downer that im not having much luck.. Im thinking because im a car nut , and spend most of my spare time restoring them , that its unappealing , and most women want a guy who dotes on them , tells them all the stuff they wanna hear etc.. I shoot straight from the hip , do my own thing , and , in all honesty , think that is my downfall. I havent found anyone who is ok to do their own thing , but still have a relationship.. almost like the only time spent together would be after work hours and on weekend evenings ( using the time to be with friends , kids sporting events , or doing fav hobbies/interests.

I guess ive been out of the relationship loop for too long to know whats "in" these days.

I am chatting to a few "potentials" , but in all honsety , i think once we meet , they see my place ( the cars in the yard awaiting for a facelift ) they'll run a mile. Either that or no-one likes bald guys anymore lol.

Have had pretty much nil contact on this site unfortunately ( apart from svena and her 20 sisters from romania who is for serious relations )

It is " making the most of the opportunities available". It shows you are actively looking and just sitting back waiting. Actually I'm lost for words and that's rare. Maybe you sound a bit too good to be true? Who knows? It's a mystery. Can't understand it either. May you find what you are looking for soon.

Must be just easter , but the dating sites have been extremely quiet.. I have paid on one of the pay sites , sent a lot of kisses out , and got back a lot of "im sorry , your not what im looking for" . and "I dont think we would be a good match , good luck with your search" , all automated responses.. So have i just blown $60 in the hope of meeting someone?

Maybe its time i started getting up from behind the square eye that is watching my life go past at an alarming rate and join society in the real world to find a real woman , who is a woman , and not an e-woman

At least you can express your feelings here on forum to communicate them to e-women who realise that is a good way to get to know someone. Surely having read your posts they might realise you are not just playing around but seriously looking to meet some real live women.

Maybe, if I may suggest (?) spend a little of that 'lonely'? (I prefer to call it 'alone' time) to paint a picture in words of the lady you hope is out there in the real world waiting for someone just like you to cross her path? Dream a little and send out some positive vibes to attract her into your life. Getting out and about in the real world occasionally, maybe joining a group interested in cars etc is not a bad idea either, or so I reckon.

One is more likely to meet their partner at the bus stop and when one is not really looking too hard, love just finds us.. My two cents worth...

I've heard of folk meeting their mate at garage sales, flea-markets, supermarkets, assorted queues, expos, and I've even had many an interesting proposition or was it proposal? at bus stops, hardware and auto shops myself...
