How do I add people to my friends list?

Open the person's profile and you will see the option 'add to friends list'

i dont understand why somebody put me on her frinds list,and never talked to me.

I think quite a few of us get that too joe....but with the way the 'friends list' works now they have to get our approval to be able to do it
