There is no excuse to slaughter any animal for scientific purposes or no. This day and age animals are bred specifically for the purpose of scientific studies and medical studies (even this is cruel but we can't do it to humans) whales are not hunted for any scientific reason that I have ever heard of they were only ever killed to provide whalebone and food for people. Plenty of sea life is now bred specifically for food so why endanger the whale!

I agree with Denim lets get the harpoons out and aim them at those slaughtering for financial and sporting reasons.
