philosopher-novelist-composer-music theorist-language theorist-etc. Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778), The Social Contract :

"Man is born free but everywhere is in chains."

Yes I like the writings of Rousseau. One of my favorites is EMILE...
Hi maam. Why read others when you can write. Had civilisation ended with Voltaire or Rousseau or Mao. It is for others to judge what we are. May be when the civilisation enters next electronic threshold there would be a new philosopher, artist, illustrator and a good receptive human being named as Scorpiowoman. Better start saving your thoughts because i dont know Penguin will ask you the originals before they publish. Emile is his tryst with a novel and no one remembers him for that.

The point i am trying to make is very simple. some times we get lost as individuals in the received wisdom. Voltaire was some one who just enjoyed good times of Parisian life. Rousseau you know very well was a confused individual who would had been posting very immature sexual banter on the net had he been alive today. Mao from what i read today, would deserve a hundred silences blooming than speech. so all these were flesh and blood mortals who were like all of us in their times. Some were incompetent, confused, arrogant, vile and shrewd. But their credit lies in what others had said about them down the lane. That way Anne Frank's diaries are the best writings a human being can write or reflect. For the rest of us i would exhort read but then dont be afraid to write. who knows which human thought is gonna click in the history of ideas.

AHHH, very simple.
I'm reading EMPIRE OF THE SUN, by J G BALLARD.
Read a couple of books by him, seen a few flicks, I've not been to bed early reading, which means its a good book.
The lad Jim is an excellent character, and it gives a great unprovoked light into the war with Japan.
I have lived in Asia, and been to many places of WW2 solemn, its just a fantastic book.

Parece-me que mais pessoas neste site estão interessados em diaphraghms e preservativos do que os livros.
