Snoring a problem? Solutions?

Snoring is any part of the airways being obstructed for any number of reasons.
Short of a severe deformity or condtion caused by severe trauma,
in most cases a CPAP machine will help, provided there are no feelings of claustrophobia as the machine works by putting on and sleeping with a mask that fits over the nose that's connected to machine that supplies a constant steady flow of air under pressure to keep the airways "inflated".
Whilst being overweight has been attributed to the cause, many slim people also have a need for this device.
Other causes can be excessive tissue or poor muscle tone in the airways.
The least often observed cause is Central Apnea, whee the brain itself cause the sufferer to cease breathing.
Best tested by a Cardio Thoracic.

The over the counter "cures" are usually quite useless, not to mention expensive.
Surgery may have to be an option.
Whichever way, see your G.P. they'll set you right.

The search function here leaves a lot to be desired

Anyway:

Have you, or someone you know, ever experienced a problem with snoring? (their own or their partner's)

What suggestions have you heard, or know of, to resolve the problem of 'sleep disturbance'?

Which are the least 'violent' yet most effective?

blah b;ah yata yata...

Well thank you, Kind sir, for the generous gift of your wide knowledge and expertise bringing us this expose of the CAUSE of snoring...

However there are other CAUSES, often temporary, such as a head cold, sinus, sleeping posture, positions? and a myriad of others not needing 'surgical intervention' or a visit to the GP.

The focus of this thread was directed on the EFFECT on a relationship, the hazards lined to sleep deprivation of the suffering partner and 'non-violent' SOLUTIONS... lol

Amusing anectdotes, innovative or creative but effective solutions, members could try, a bit of humour, both veg and non-veg, for friendly 'forum fun' including, frivolity, banter, repartee was hoped for...

Seriously though GM, thank you for making an effort to revitalise the forums... really appreciate your bravery...

Ok
Here's a question for PP members...

(Those of who may have ever at some tme or another been so sleep derived that you fell asleep in a 'public place'... If you also happened to snore at the time, you will understand how embarrassing it might be, especially if one is / is trying to be, 'a lady' lol... Think 'Sandra Bullock' and that movie... ok, lol... not a 'pretty sight or sound for that matter, sort of destroys the 'illusion' of 'lady' hardly a 'ladylike' attribute or quality at all, ok...

Now we are all on the same page...

What would you do if someone (male or female) fell asleep on the train, platform, in a lecture hall, theatre, at a party or whatever your imagination allows... AND they SNORED... loudly...

What if ?
their Snoring, either disturbed your enjoyment of the place, your peace your sense of aesthetics, yatayata ad infinitum...

or

caused loss of dignity to themselves... (not so funny hey if it happens to be a loved one or someone whose wellbeing you care about?)

What non-violent action might you take?
and why...?
