Snoring is any part of the airways being obstructed for any number of reasons.
Short of a severe deformity or condtion caused by severe trauma,
in most cases a CPAP machine will help, provided there are no feelings of claustrophobia as the machine works by putting on and sleeping with a mask that fits over the nose that's connected to machine that supplies a constant steady flow of air under pressure to keep the airways "inflated".
Whilst being overweight has been attributed to the cause, many slim people also have a need for this device.
Other causes can be excessive tissue or poor muscle tone in the airways.
The least often observed cause is Central Apnea, whee the brain itself cause the sufferer to cease breathing.
Best tested by a Cardio Thoracic.
The over the counter "cures" are usually quite useless, not to mention expensive.
Surgery may have to be an option.
Whichever way, see your G.P. they'll set you right.

Anyway:
Have you, or someone you know, ever experienced a problem with snoring? (their own or their partner's)
What suggestions have you heard, or know of, to resolve the problem of 'sleep disturbance'?
Which are the least 'violent' yet most effective?
