when i walk to school with my kids the 10 yo will give me quick peck on check after checking to see if anyone is watching if a friend is watching it is a quick 1 armed cuddle ,lol the 8yo will still openly give kiss and cuddle but gets shy if he can see his teacher lol has any one else noticed things like this with there kids ????and at what age ?

Have you always been a parent?

When as a child, did you stop doing this kind of thing with your parents.? Or did you never stop> ? and it's ok for them to stop,, it doesn't mean the don't love you anymore,, it's just that they are getting older,, and this is how they think they should be have, savvy?

i was about eleven and no its not a problem it is part of him growing up .i was hoping that people would see the humerous side of their kids going through this stage at home he still comes to me to be nursed and cuddled or even just lay on or with dad while watching tv.so im sorry if you got wrong impression from forum that does mention his current problem which i am doing my best to help him solve .

Why stop showing affections towards your dad, there are lots of reasons peer pressure, macho behavior, over bearing father who doesn't know when to much is to much or lack of affection towards each other. In my case I stopped at 10 years old when i learned that my father was abusing sexually two kids, that stop any affection I ever had for my dad.

Alz I hope your sister's are ok with you putting that on the net as it is about them not you.

My oldest boy is 7 and he has started showing signs of not wanting a kiss and cuddle upon being dropped off to school. Nevertheless he still loves a big ol smooch when tucking him in at night. My youngest boy is 5 and he will have a kiss and cuddle anytime I want to give him one - I think grab these moments with both hands as it ends all to quickly.
