I guess a fair place to start is Why Am I Here. I'm here because... where else would I be?

I'm not likely to be at a night club - not my scene - smokey, noisy, no place to have a good conversation. I might be at a laid back bar or pub, but I'd be with friends and not really there to 'mingle'. I could be out in the bush somewhere doing any one of a number of things, but there's a lot of bush so I'd be easy to miss. I might be at home doing some welding or designing some new gadget (I sculpt in steel and make electronic things when I feel the need to be creative)

So I'm here.

In a few words? I'm tall, fairly intelligent, educated, well employed, and live in a pretty little spot near Windsor, where I can see the stars properly at night. I reckon I'm a nice guy, if that helps. I have a varied work history which makes for interesting conversation: I've been a diving instructor, taught white water kayaking, been a commercial skipper, Rescue Medical Technician, security negotiator, Navy Legal Officer (yes like JAG) and I now work in HR/recruitment, which I really enjoy. I love kids and animals; BBQ'd rather than baked or steamed.

I love the bush - being out there where the furry things live, I enjoy reading, kicking back with a DVD, singing along to anything and everything at the top of my lungs when I'm driving in the car, going out for coffee, exploring old towns, weekend markets, museums, and I love cooking for someone else (hard to get motivated when it's just for myself).

I guess I'm outdoorsy, but I have the tech-gadget thing that so many 'boys' get, so I have lots of toys with buttons on them. I blend my own tea, I bake bread (it's great on the camp fire), I can't draw/paint which is why I sculpt, I love a good deep discussion about an emotive issue but I'm annoyingly logical (legal background doesn't help).

A coffee or a drink to start with - that way when you turn up with a chainsaw and the severed head of your last date in a bag, I can tactfully excuse myself fairly quickly. If you're less scary, a bit of a walk while we chat is nice. "Is there an ice-cream shop around here?"

Perhaps a picnic or dinner after that, as long as you leave your hardware at home.

Who really knows? Too many variables. See where the flow of things takes us? That's how I try to do things.
