dblyr_pleasure Belly Laughs Are Good, Right?

Unless "belly laughs" means people laughing at my belly. Yes, it's true. I've put on 30 lbs since my divorce three years ago and I need to get active and get it off. It would be great to have someone special to lure me out of this bear cave I sit in night after night watching the Sox lose and packing away Marie Callender's frozen lasagna. It's time to go out again, to laugh and have fun again, and maybe meet someone who can make me feel like divorce isn't the end of the world. For me, laughter is the key to happiness, and I like nothing better than clever, intelligent banter with a bright, educated and self-possessed woman. I'm very verbal and make jokes pretty constantly. In my experience women either laugh and take a step closer or roll their eyes and begin looking for the exit. Which would you do?

Pretty much anything would be an adventure for me at this point, since right now I don't do anything but work. I think a first date should be fairly unstructured, though, to allow for lots of talking and an easy exit if need be. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a three-hour dinner theater "Murder Mystery" when you knew in the first five minutes that I was a candidate for the scrap heap. It can be as little as meeting for coffee; a quick half-hour just to see if there's anything to pursue. A Sunday brunch type of thing is nice, too, with the afternoon left open in case we hit it off and want to prolong things. The important thing is it should be no big deal, with as little pressure as possible.
